What Little Venice actually is
Little Venice is a single row of old houses on the waterfront, on the side of Mykonos Town where the sun goes down — straight ahead is open sea toward Delos, and the Kato Mili windmills stand on the headland to the left. Restaurants and bars share the strip, and in the golden hour the whole row of houses turns orange for about twenty minutes.
That hour is why everyone comes. The seats over the water are the scarce thing in the whole town: there are only so many rails, the sun sets once, and by late afternoon the strip is full of people looking for exactly the table you want.
What to know before dinner here
Book ahead, whatever the month — the rail seats go first, every night of the season. If the sunset is the point, plan to be at the table about an hour before it: you get the blue hour, the drop and the afterglow instead of arriving into the dark. Eating over open water is part of the charm and part of the deal: on a windy evening there can be spray at the rail, and in genuinely bad weather restaurants move tables to sheltered sections. It is the sea, at arm's length — that is the point of the place.
Mykonos Town is pedestrian, and the lanes of Little Venice are narrow and largely unnamed. Park at the old port or the Fabrica public parking and walk in — most people come along the waterfront or down from the windmills.

Where Cantera sits in all this
Cantera is on that waterfront, one floor up — so the view goes over the balconies of Little Venice rather than through them, with the windmills to the left and the sun dropping into the open sea ahead. The room opens at 18:00 and the balcony at the rail is made for the sunset hour.
